New York resident Yaroslav Suris tried to watch several videos on Pornhub but was unable to because of the website’s lack of closed captioning, according to the lawsuit, ABC reports.
The lawsuit claims Pornhub, Redtube and YouPorn violated the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act, which says its purpose is “to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else”.
“Websites that prevent accessibility to deaf and hard of hearing individuals is a discriminatory act,” the lawsuit claims.
But Pornhub’s Vice President Corey Price told ABC in a statement the website does, in fact, have a closed captions category.
Suris previously sued several media outlets, including Fox News, over similar alleged violations.
He wants penalties to be handed to Pornhub, as well as compensation.
