WHEN IT COMES to audio gear, it’s rare to find a single product that can meet all your needs. The headphones that sound great on your commute are too bulky for workouts, and the buds you wear to the gym are nowhere near comfortable enough to sleep in. Compromise is necessary, and ideally, a brand will offer a lineup of purpose-built products designed to slot into your day without trying to force one device to do it all.
That’s what soundcore is attempting to do with its lineup. There’s the Space One Pros, a set of adaptive noise-cancelling headphones; the AeroClip, an open-ear clip-on earphone; and the Sleep A30, ultra-compact earbuds made specifically for bedtime. We spent a full 24 hours using all three to see how well the soundcore suite holds up across a full day.
How did it go? Find our honest thoughts below on how they slot seamlessly into a daily routine.
7:30am: commuting with the soundcore Space One Pro
The morning commute doesn’t have to be a waste of time. In fact, if done right, it can be strangely meditative. This writer’s commute lasts about an hour on public transport – which you’ll know is hardly a peaceful sanctuary if you’ve ever been on a Sydney train. And yet, the Space One Pros, soundcore’s flagship noise-cancelling headphones, deliver exactly what you want from a set of headphones at this hour: peace and quiet.
From the moment I stepped onto the train, the four-stage noise cancellation system kicked in to block out the tumult in real time. Engine hum, chatter, even the screech of the tracks, all gone. But what really stood out was the adaptive nature of the noise cancellation, which automatically adjusted to the environment. Walking through a quieter park en route to the office, the headphones let a little more ambient sound through, so I didn’t feel sealed off. On a coffee run later in a noisy café, silence again.
Sound-wise, the Space One Pro offers a rich, balanced soundstage with detailed highs and prominent bass, which made both podcasts and music a joy to listen to. And the drivers with triple composite diaphragms deliver crispness even after hours of wear.
Also worth noting: comfort. These are plush, but surprisingly lightweight. Thanks to soundcore’s FlexiCurve structure, the Space One Pros’ size has been reduced by 50 per cent, and they’re foldable. The earcups didn’t clamp, and the headband felt secure without leaving a dent in my head. Plus, with a battery life of 60 hours with ANC off and 40 with it on, there’s more than enough room to forget your charger for a day or two.
12:30pm: Lunchtime sweat sesh with the soundcore AeroClip
Around midday I switched to the AeroClip. These sleek, lightweight earbuds clip onto your ear, and they pump out surprisingly rich audio for something that doesn’t block your entire ear canal. That means no soreness, even after a few hours of wear.
The design is clever, with an adaptive open-ring that can withstand 20,000 bends while remaining secure. On my lunchtime run, I could still hear the rush of passing traffic, but my running playlist had plenty of kick, especially in the lows. That can be attributed to advanced virtual bass technology, which enriches certain sounds.
Call quality was also sharp when I answered a quick phone call on the cool-down walk. Four beamforming mics, wind-blocking meshes and advanced AI work in tandem to make that happen.
10:00pm: lights out with the soundcore Sleep A30
Here’s where soundcore truly sets itself apart. Sleep earbuds are notoriously difficult to get right, but the Sleep A30s are tiny, with ultra-soft tips and a design so low-profile I forgot I was wearing them.
The Sleep A30s are the world’s first smart ANC sleep earbuds. They boast a tiny but powerful driver and ear canal adaptation, as well as three-stage snore-masking capabilities to block out all that unwanted noise.
Comfort is paramount with sleep earbuds, and the Sleep A30s deliver in that area too. They have memory foam ear tips, that remember the grooves of your ear for added comfort, an ergonomic design that fits into the natural contours of your eardrum, and of course, they’re tiny.
Waking up the next morning, I realised I’d had the best night’s sleep I’d had all week. Just pure, uninterrupted rest.
The verdict
After 24 hours with the full soundcore suite, one thing became clear: soundcore doesn’t just make good products, it’s a brand that understands context and what we need in specific situations.
The Space One Pro is a true standout. It’s ideal for anyone who wants premium sound and adaptive ANC without too hefty a price tag. The AeroClip is a fresh take on clip-on audio, open and freeing but still full-bodied in sound. And the Sleep A30? Quite possibly the most comfortable, effective sleep earbuds on the market right now.
Each product excels in its own space. Together, they form an ecosystem that follows you from sunrise to slumber. And for that, soundcore deserves serious props.
