DANIEL RICCIARDO has been hospitalised after a motorbike crash in north Queensland.
The retired F1 driver was riding through the Daintree rainforest when he reportedly crashed. While details on the nature of the incident are scant, it is understood that Ricciardo was taken to nearby Mossman hospital for treatment, and suffered a broken collarbone. The driver is reportedly in good spirits, despite the injury.

Just last week, Ricciardo made his first official public appearance since he was left without a seat for the 2025 F1 season.
“Well, I haven’t been shaving my face. The beard is my comfort right now,” the driver joked when asked about how he’s handling life after F1. “I had a fallout with my barber and then I lost my razor. It’s been a tough six months.”
On a more serious note, Ricciardo said that “This year has been a bit of self-exploration. I lived this crazy high-speed life for so long, and this year I’ve sat into a little bit of stillness.”
“I’ve been trying to figure out who I am other than this racecar driver… I’ve come to appreciate the little things more and the meaning of the importance of family and friends.” he continued. “I’ve always been driven, and that sometimes leads you to being selfish, so I’m trying to learn to be a bit more selfless and become a better listener.”
