As Kay Oswald sits in his lounge room in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, he is a world away from where he expected to be, and what he expected to be doing, when first starting his management career.  Every morning, Kay starts the day with a smoothie. He’s given us some insider tips on the best recipe for a post-workout drink…

Ingredients

1 banana

1 cup frozen berries (or berry of choice)

1 tsp. cacao

1 scoop protein powder

1 tbsp. chia seeds

1 tbsp. flaxseeds

1 tbsp. coconut oil

1-2 cups coconut water

Method

  1. Throw all the ingredients into a blender. Secure the lid. Blend for 40 seconds or until smooth.

If you’re using the KitchenAid Pro Line Blender, set the Blender to the Adapti-Blend Smoothie program. Blend until machine turns itself off. Alternatively, blend for 40 seconds, starting on speed 1 and gradually increasing to speed 10 or 11, until smooth.

This is an edited extract from KitchenAid General Manager, Kay Oswald.
