After arriving on this year’s season of Love Island, Irishman Eoghan Murphy has stood out for most of the female contestants. But the real-estate agent hasn’t always been the specimen you’re seeing on screen.

Speaking to New Idea, the 24-year-old opened up his heart break and building his revenge body.

“We met at school and we were just best mates. Obviously, we had our rough patches and breaks here and there, broke up a few times but nothing more than a week or two weeks,” Murphy spoke of his ex, who he met at just 14 years of age. .

“I’ve learnt to be who I am. It was a horrible time but at the same time, it’s like s–t. I’ve grown so much.”

It took time for the Brisbane-based realtor to recover – he even had plans to pop the question.

“The plan was to [marry her]. But that ship has sailed,” he adds.

Following the split, Murphy spent time working on himself and most notably, his body. That rig didn’t happen overnight, he admits, more than 12 months went into his new-found physique.

“Before I was like … skinny, fat and stuff, with short hair. Just no muscle at all,” Eoghan laughs.

“Now I’ve gotten jacked and grown long hair. It’s taken me a year and a half. You could say it is a revenge body.”
