It’s on!
The superfight between UFC champ Connor McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather might be a month away but the two fighters have started the chirp.
At the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, the two fighters made their first stop on their world promotion tour.
But it was McGregor who made the first move.
Notorious for making the crowd wait, McGregor uncharacteristically arrived early in typical garb – a three-piece suit tailored to the inch – posing for photographs.
After UFC president Dana White introduced the Irishman, McGregor immediately launched into the abuse.
“He’s in a f***ing tracksuit, he can’t even afford a suit anymore.”
Mayweather wasn’t fazed, later telling reporters: “Popularity has nothing to do with what we have in our bank accounts. I always chose fortune over fame.”
Have a look at the footage below of the first official stare down. We’d suggest things are going to get more heated from here on.
