MH Tech Review: iRobot Roomba 980 Roaming Vacuum Robot

It sounds almost too good to be true, right? The idea of never having to spend hours vacuuming your house ever again. And thanks to our new friend the iRobot Roomba 980 we don’t need to worry no more.

Design & Build

Its all-black exterior and sleek design is not only visually appealing (so you don’t mind having your vacuum in the living room full-time) but practical as it fits perfectly under couches, beds and cabinetry getting into all of those hard to reach places (and the ones we never bothered with before).

Functionality

While all vacuums are noisy at times iRobot have thought of everything allowing you to schedule a clean while you’re on the go using the iRobot HOME App – so coming home to a clean house is a reality not just a dream!

Performance

Although having one minor altercation with our thin Christmas light cord the Roomba operated seamlessly, its simple light system let’s you know when to empty the chambers but also when it was fully charged.

The Round-up

Living with roommates the Roomba takes out all of the fuss of divvying up the weekly chores. One of my favourite features was its ability to clean while no one was home. Although, if you live in a multilevel dwelling you’d need to set your Roomba up on different floors their stair and doorway blockers worked a charm.
