Industry Mourns The Loss Of MMA Fighter

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Aaron Rajman has been killed by intruders at his home in Florida, police say.

The 25-year-old sportsman was fatally shot during an altercation between a group of unidentified males after they broke into his residence in Boca Raton on Monday night.

According to a press release obtained by PEOPLE from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the assailants fled the scene in a vehicle.

Their motives for the attack are currently unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Rabbi Zalman Bukiet of Chabad of Boca Raton has paid tribute to the victim, who was an active member of the Orthodox Jewish community.

“He was very strong in his faith, and he was a very good person,” he told WPTV West Palm Beach.

“This was a very special young man who had a heart of gold. It’s a tragedy and extremely painful for them and painful for everyone that knew him.”

Rajman made his professional debut three years ago and had a 2-2 fight record at the time of his death.

A Facebook post shared by MMA South Florida reads: “The world lost another warrior today. RIP Aaron Rajman. You will be missed.”
