What to stream in March 2026: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV + more

Can't decide what to watch? In desperate need of a new series to binge? Feel like you've seen every movie ever made? Don't stress, there's plenty of new content coming to streaming in March. This is what you'll want to add to your watchlist

SUMMER HAS, unfortunately, already reached its inevitable end. And as the temperatures are cooling and the days shortening, the idea of staying home for a good old-fashioned streaming binge is becoming more appealing.

That’s not necessarily bad news, because the new content coming to streaming platforms in March is worth staying home for. First, War Machine starring Alan Ritchson will premiere, and it’s Netflix’s biggest action film of the year. Then there’s new series like Steve Carell’s Rooster on HBO Max and Young Sherlock on Amazon Prime. As far as returning series go, March will also see new seasons of One Piece, Heartbreak High and Deadloch.

In any case, it’s a good time to have a streaming subscription. The new content is arriving in such quantities that choosing what to watch becomes its own challenge. That’s where we come in. To help you find what’s worth streaming in March, we’ve rounded up the best new pieces of content.

What’s new on Netflix Australia, March 2026

March Netflix Highlight – War Machine

Filmed primarily in Melbourne, War Machine stars Alan Ritchson as the most jacked soldier you’ve ever seen. The film follows Ritchson and an elite team of soldiers in the final stages of US Army Ranger selection. When their training is interrupted by a deadly alien threat, the group has to fight for their survival. Strong Predator vibes with this one, right down to the considerable size of the lead. Aussie actors Jai Courtney, Keiynan Lonsdale and Daniel Webber also appear.

Elsewhere on Netflix, the streamer is set for a huge month. First, Russell Crowe’s latest film, Nuremberg, in which he plays Nazi war criminal Hermann Göring, will make its streaming debut. Then, Netflix is finally cashing in on the huge untapped market that is dinosaur nerds (I can call them that because I am one) with The Dinosaurs, a four-part documentary series narrated by Morgan Freeman. Beloved series are also getting new seasons, with One Piece back for its second and Heartbreak High for its third and final.

March Disney+ Highlight – Ghost Elephants

Was anyone else really into that TikTok edit of the nihilistic penguin? Well, if so, Ghost Elephants should be right up your alley. Like Encounters at the End of the World, which the footage of that penguin was taken from, Ghost Elephants is a nature documentary directed by Werner Herzog. It centres on the search for an elusive herd of elephants, long believed to be a myth, in the Angolan highlands by a group of trackers and a conservation biologist.

What’s new on Amazon Prime Video Australia, March 2026

March Amazon Prime Video Highlight – Young Sherlock

Young Sherlock follows a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes during his time at Oxford university. When Holmes becomes entangled in a murder, it sets in motion a series of events that put him on the path of becoming the detective the world now knows. Hero Fiennes Tiffin, the nephew of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, plays the titular character.

Also coming to Amazon Prime is the second season of Australian mystery series Dead Loch. This time, detectives Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe are in Darwin to investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner. Their efforts are soon waylaid, however, when a body part is discovered in a remote town called Barra Creek and another mystery emerges.

Another one worth checking out: Scarpetta. It stars Nicole Kidman as Dr. Kay Scarpetta, who is trying to unmask a serial killer and prove that her career-making case from 28 years earlier isn’t also her undoing. Simon Baker and Jamie Lee Curtis also feature.
