Reebok Announces Vegan Plant-Based Performance Shoe | Men's Health Magazine Australia

First There Was Plant-Based Food, Now There Are Plant-Based Sneakers

We’re all trying to do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment. Even brands have jumped on board, creating ranges produced from recycled plastic, most notably partnering with Parley. But now Reebok have gone one step further, creating a plant-based runner made from natural ingredients such as algae.

The performance shoe, the Forever Floatride GROW, is replacing traditional materials with natural alternatives including castor bean oil, eucalyptus tree, algae and natural rubber.

From what we know, the colours are light with a slightly brownish green tinge. Branded with Reebok’s signature logo, the shoe has a white knit upper, a white midsole and a gum rubber outsole.

The shoe is set for release in 2020.
