We Finally Know Who’s Playing Ivan Drago’s Son in ‘Creed 2’

Sylvester Stallone’s quest to find the perfect dude to portray the son of Ivan Drago in Creed 2 has come to a close. MMA fighter Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu will be taking on the part of the surly young Russian, Stallone announced in his Instagram.

While Munteanu doesn’t have much acting experience, he’s certainly already got the angry “I will crush you” look down pat. Which, really, is the most important part.

“Congratulations to Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son!” Stallone captioned the photo. “27 years old, 6 feet four, 245 pounds of talent.”

The post confirms that Munteanu will take on the role of Vitor Drago. Although the movie plot hasn’t been announced, we can expect there will at least be a tussle or two between him and Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, considering their “rocky” family history. Quick refresher: Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren, killed Apollo Creed, Adonis Creed’s father, in Rocky IV. Then Rocky headed over to Russia, chopped some logs, ran around in the snow and kicked Drago’s ass in front of his home crowd.

With the announcement of Lundgren returning in Creed 2, and the fact he’s been getting in fighting shape for the past few months, it’s safe to say the Dragos are going to be looking to settle some scores with their fists and angry eyes. Kind of looks like Munteanu was made for this role.

According to jackjillcasting.com, Munteanu was born in Romania and raised in Germany, and is a professional heavyweight boxer as well as a fitness model. He doesn’t have any acting experience, but he definitely ticks all the other boxes required to play Vitor Drago—ripped as hell, background in Eastern European accents, and a pretty impressive boxer.

Creed 2 is set to hit theatres in November of this year. Although the plot will surely follow that of every single Rocky movie ever made, you can bet your ass we are pumped as hell for this latest instalment. Let’s just hope none of the actors are following Stallone’s original Rocky diet.
