Chris Hemsworth is unrecognisable in our first look at ‘Furiosa’
Anya Taylor-Joy might be playing the titular role, but the internet only has eyes for Hemsworth's prosthetic nose.
If you’ve never been to a proper World Series match before, your chance has finally arrived; the World Series of Darts is coming to our shores this year, according to Ladbible, and promises to be a show like no other.
Far removed from your standard game of darts at the local pub, the World Series requires players to score 501 points while throwing a dart across 2.37 metres of open air space onto a board. There are dancers, there are sparklers and there are flares – not to mention the endless cheering, shouting and sledging. It’s nothing short of amazing.
The World Series was originally due to come to New South Wales last year, however thanks to ‘old mate Covid, it was called off. Now that we have our cases somewhat under wraps, organisers are pinning their hopes on being able to hold a massive tournament in August this year – more specifically, at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong on August 6 and 7, before the Queensland Darts Masters is held at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre on August 13 and 14.
“We’ve travelled around Australia in recent years with the World Series of Darts and it’s exciting for us to be visiting Wollongong and Townsville for the first time…to take these fantastic events to new audiences,” DC Chief Executive Matthew Porter said last year.
“Both are strong sporting areas and this is a great opportunity to see the world’s top darts players live in high-profile international tournaments.
“After Damon Heta’s amazing achievement winning in Brisbane last year, all eyes will be on the local stars from Australia and New Zealand to see who can grasp their opportunity to claim glory alongside the biggest names in darts.”
Look our for local talents Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock and Kyle Anderson, who will take on the likes of number one ranked world champion Peter Wright, as well as Michael van Gerwen, and the unbelievable Fallon Sherrock.
