What to stream in May 2025: Netflix, Disney+, Max, Amazon Prime + more

Can't decide what to watch in May? Don't stress, and stop wasting your time scrolling because Men's Health's May streaming guide has got you covered

DID YOUR BINGE subscription survive last month’s exodus of content? With the arrival of Max in Australia, Binge has lost the rights to HBO originals and Warner Bros films and now looks like it offers far less bang for your buck. But if you’ve still got Binge, good for you! The arrival of Max has shaken up the streaming landscape, forcing a re-evaluation of which of our subscriptions are worth it and which we should probably cancel. And as we head into the cooler months when we spend the most time staring at a screen, the competition for eyeballs is heating up.

Max has started life in Australia strong, with new episodes of The Last Of Us season two releasing weekly. Weekly instalments of Andor season two are also hitting Disney+. Perfect for May 4th. On Netflix, new marital comedy The Four Seasons, starring Tina Fey, Steve Carell and Colman Domingo, is sure to be a hit. The same can be said for Apple TV+’s new sci-fi comedy thriller Murderbot.

With so much new content on offer, choosing what to spend your time watching is the hardest part. The big hitters like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and now Max are so packed with must-watch films and shows that it can be difficult to discern what’s worth your time and what’s best left on the back burner – especially when you’re prone to indecision and are paying for the luxury of choice with subscriptions to multiple platforms.

Not to worry, though, Men’s Health has you covered. To help you avoid scrolling the night away, we’ve rounded up all the very best films and shows coming to streaming platforms, so you know what to stream in May 2025.

May Netflix Highlight – The Four Seasons

Netflix’s biggest May release is coming on the first of the month. Tina Fey writes, produces and stars in The Four Seasons, a marital comedy based on a relatively unknown Alan Alda film from the 1980s. Fey and comedian Will Forte form one of three couples who have vacationed together for years. But as the group’s marriages have lost their spark, tension is rife. When one member of the group (played by Steve Carell) decides to get a divorce, friendships are tested as the group (which also includes Colman Domingo) spirals into chaos.

May Disney+ Highlight – Andor, season 2

A quieter month on Disney+ is headlined by the continuation of the most critically acclaimed Disney+ Star Wars series to date. Andor, which had a three episode premiere in April and is now releasing in weekly three episode installments, largely eschews the standard Star-Wars-iness that endears the franchise to its fans but isolates outsiders who aren’t already well-versed in almost 50 years of lore. Instead, Andor tells a grittier story about political espionage and rebellion during a time of oppression. It could stand on its own outside of the Star Wars universe, but works just as well in it. The perfect show to watch this May 4th.

If Star Wars isn’t your thing, how does Stanley Tucci wandering through the streets of Italy as he digs deeper into the relationship between food, place and identity sound? If you answered in the affirmative, give Tucci in Italy a shot. Or, if a sports doco is more to your liking, Welcome to Wrexham season four is premiering on May 16.

May Stan Highlight – Poker Face, season 2

In Rian Johnson’s returning whodunnit series, Natasha Lyonne stars as a freelance detective. In a way, the series works as a sounding board for Johnson’s other popular project that follows an irreverent detective, Knives Out. But in another way, Poker Face is the more inspired of the two, doubling as a roadtrip comedy and mystery of the week sitcom as Lyonne’s Charlie trots around the USA in a Plymouth Barracuda, using her preternatural lie-detecting abilities to solve crimes. Season two promises appearances from John Mulaney, Melanie Lynskey, Katie Holmes and three characters all played by Cynthia Erivo.
