We’ve all done it. You type out a message, analyse every word and muster up the courage to press send. Then you do it – you press send, and not even half a second later you’re filled with instant regret.
But if you’re one of the millions of people around the world who use WhatsApp to message your friends, this could all be about to change.
It’s been revealed that WhatsApp is working on a feature for their app that will allow users to ‘unsend’ embarrassing texts up to five minutes after they’ve been sent.
The feature first appeared in the latest WhatsApp beta release, and is likely to be rolled out to all users in the next official iOS update.
The Twitter account WABetaInfo was the first to break the news, revealing details of the ‘unsend’ feature in the Android v2.17.140 beta.
While WhatsApp haven’t commented on the upcoming releases, it’s rumoured the new features will also include the ability to share you location with your friends, message with different fonts and use a feature called ‘change number’, which notifies other users if you get a different number.
If what we’re being lead to believe is true, this is going to flip the messaging world on its head. Drunk texters, rejoice: this one’s for you.
