As an Editor at Men’s Health, my inbox (and our office deliveries table) is deluged by companies promoting the latest and greatest in “healthy” snacks. And majority of those are protein bars.
Sure, that may sound amazing, except for one small detail: getting a protein bar right is much harder than it seems. From texture to flavour, to nutritional benefit – it really has to be the perfect balance. And that’s something I would like to think I am getting a lot better at judging.
On today’s menu: The new H24 ACHIEVE Protein Bars, available in two flavours (Dark Chocolate Brownie and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough).
Their packaging language is minimal—Nutrition for the 24-hour athlete (hence the name Herbalife24), 20 grams of protein, 4 grams of sugar, and 230 calories. And that’s it. There’s no oversell. There’s no pleading for you to try it by having to compare it to something else. This is a solid hit of protein, packaged as a ready-to-eat snack.
If you like your protein bars super chocolaty, go for the Dark Chocolate Brownie. If you don’t, try the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Both flavours are delicious, satisfying, and carry that sense of, “Dang, I could have another one of these.” You can credit that to the fact that Herbalife use natural flavours in their bars, as well as not using artificial sweeteners, flavours or added colours.
For peace of mind, the H24 ACHIEVE Protein Bars have also been tested for prohibited substances by a third party, purposefully catering for international professional athletes right through to everyday wellness seekers who prioritise consuming only natural ingredients into their body.
So the final verdict? Definitely MH approved.
If you start with a premium product, you have to do very little to it. A good snacks sells itself. H24 ACHIEVE Protein Bars let their quality do the work. In fact, the best thing about H24 ACHIEVE Protein Bars is that they’re everything flashy new packaged snacks are not. They are straightforward. They’re simple. They’re no-nonsense.
And for someone like me that deals with a lot of protein-based nonsense, that’s special.
