Jelly Roll Had Testosterone Of A 'Preteen Boy' Before Weight Loss

Jelly Roll had a testosterone level of a ‘preteen boy’ before his weight-loss transformation

“I was married to a smoke show, and I was still struggling.”

IN A NEW Men’s Health cover story, country-rap star Jelly Roll opens up about how he lost 275 pounds and completely transformed his body. He revealed that before embarking on his epic fitness quest, he had a testosterone level of a preteen boy, which had a significant impact on his sex life.

“When I went in there for the test, it was bad,” the 41-year-old singer said. “Bad. The world opened up when I seen it on paper. I was like, That’s my testosterone level? I mean, dude, we’re talking a 57.”

For a man of Jelly Roll’s age, a healthy testosterone level would be between 300 ng/dL and 900 ng/dL. Low testosterone levels are associated with changes in libido, mood, energy, and muscle mass. Jelly Roll said his sex life was “torture.” “You can’t get it up without T,” he says. “I was married to a smoke show, and I was still struggling.”

Jelly Roll’s low T was one motivation for starting his weight-loss journey. It also prompted him to start testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). In fact, he said he would probably need to be on TRT for the rest of his life. But the results, he says, are worth it. After starting treatment, Jelly Roll’s testosterone levels increased and his sex life completely transformed with his wife, Bunnie Xo.

“Now it’s a totally different thing,” he says. “I’m chasing her around the house, you know what I’m saying?” I’m like a teenage kid again! I’m like the Pink Panther: I bust out of every corner. And she opens the cabinet and I go, ‘Hi!’”
