The New Balance 1080 V15 Is Here: Updates And Release Date

The New Balance 1080 V15 is here

The newest version of the most versatile shoe in New Balance's stable has just been unveiled – and it looks better than ever

NEW BALANCE has lifted the lid on the 1080V15, the latest evolution of its flagship daily trainer. Featuring a new Infinion Foam midsole, an updated upper and enhanced cushioning throughout, the 1080V15 marks a major step forward for the brand’s most popular running shoe.

For years, the 1080 has been what New Balance markets as its go-to all-rounder – a shoe you can take out for an easy jog, a long run or anything in between. The V15 builds on that reputation with a design focused on smoother transitions, better energy return and a more consistent feel underfoot.

At the centre of the update is the Infinion Foam midsole, a brand-new compound that’s softer and more responsive than before. It offers a cushioned landing and a lively toe-off, giving the shoe a balanced feel that works across any distance. The midsole geometry has also been refined, creating a ride that feels more fluid and natural from heel to toe.

New Balance 1080V15

The 1080V15 has a stack height of 40mm in the heel and 34mm in the forefoot for a 6mm drop. Weighing 261 grams in a men’s US 9.5, it’s lighter than it’s predecessor despite having upgraded cushioning. The upper has also been reworked, now using a breathable double-layer mesh with molded contours to provide structure without adding pressure. Beneath that, the rubber outsole combines solid coverage and exposed foam zones to deliver traction where it’s needed while cutting excess weight.

Visually, the V15 signals a fresh direction for the 1080 series. The launch colourway pairs a bright lime green upper with a two-tone metallic grey and white midsole, finished with blue detailing on the logo and tongue.

The New Balance 1080v15 will launch in Australia on January 15, 2026. It will be  available online, in New Balance stores and through select retailers for a price of $280 AUD.

We’ve tested several generations of the 1080 and have consistently found it to be one of the best daily trainers on the market. With the V15’s improved cushioning and refined design, that doesn’t look likely to change.
