Everything Coming To Netflix Australia This September 2022

As the temperatures rise and the outdoors demand the greater showing of flesh, Netflix is here to entertain you and keep you cool indoors.

What with the constant lashing of rain and skies greyer than George Clooney’s hair, for a period there in winter, it felt like the turning of the seasons might never occur, that we might be stuck in that bleak portal for eternity. But now it’s September and the air carries a little bit more warmth that renders our winter wardrobe now too warm for any outdoor activity, it seems we’ve finally emerged on the other side.

Spring might be a time where the outdoors practically demands urgent attention, but let’s face it – sometimes you need to reboot and just take some time to yourself before getting amongst the social gatherings at the local pub or the picnics that inevitably end with a legion of ants crawling into a tub of potato salad and rendering it inedible.

It’s time we normalised staying indoors. Whether it’s a form of self-care or simply re-charging the batteries before summer rolls around and social BBQs begin punctuating every weekend, the fact remains that rather than see it as antisocial or unmotivated, these actions deserve to be seen for what they are: a chance to indulge in the great entertainment Netflix has to offer.

September presents a number of exciting films and series set to arrive to the streaming platform. There’s the Australian-filmed Heartbreak High, filmed in Sydney which serves as a reimagining of the 90s Australian young adult series which ran for seven seasons. But perhaps the most exciting film of all is that of Blonde, arriving on September 28 and starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe, alongside the likes of Adrien Brody. Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, this fictional portrait boldly reimagines and explores the tumultuous private life of the Hollywood star and the sacrifices made in the name of fame.

To help take the guesswork out of what to watch this September, we’ve rounded up everything set to land on Netflix Australia. Now all there’s left to do is sit back, relax and unwind.
