21 Soul Destroying Workouts, All Named After Powerful Women

They say that behind every great man is an even greater woman. And in this case, they couldn’t be more correct.

The ‘they’ we’re referring to are the team behind the sport of CrossFit, in particular Founder Greg Glassman. “I think anything that leaves you laying on your back gasping for air wondering what just happened to you should be named after a girl,” explained Glassman.

And the naming serves a greater purpose. Just like their namesakes, these workouts appear beautiful, simple and very doable (strictly from a workout perspective of course…), but they each come with their own bite.

Deep down, each of these women are complex. They hurt, they will probably make you cry, and they’re designed to test you. But ultimately, doing one of the ‘ladies’ will shape the man and athlete you become (again… purely talking about working out here).

Every athlete has their favourite, but we recommend giving each a try. Identify your weaknesses, and redo the ones that you feel deserve more of your attention.

Why I Run: Trent Knox

In 2016, Trent Knox founded the 440 Run Club, a group who meet each Saturday morning at 5am at Sydney’s Bronte beach. While the club has been pivotal in Knox’s sobriety journey, this year he began training for events like the Sydney Marathon and fell in love with running all over again
