Scientists Discover That McDonald’s Fries Could Help Cure Baldness

A new study by the Yokohama National University in Japan has found that dimethylpolysiloxane, which is added to McDonald’s fries to prevent bubbling cooking oil is the secret to regrowing hair follicles.

Your body needs hair follicle germs (HFG) in order to grow hair, the Japanese researchers discovered the “holy grail” in the form of silicone. One of the main reasons for its effectiveness is that it allows oxygen to pass through the hair cells.

Although you’ve probably never heard of it chances are you’ve eaten it at some point in your life as the silicone is also used at Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut and Domino’s.

“This simple method is very robust and promising. We hope that this technique will improve human hair regenerative therapy to treat hair loss such as androgenic alopecia,” Fukuda said.

But like all good things there’s a catch, the chemical was used as a base to create new hair follicles not grow hair on its own.

Why I Run: Trent Knox

In 2016, Trent Knox founded the 440 Run Club, a group who meet each Saturday morning at 5am at Sydney’s Bronte beach. While the club has been pivotal in Knox’s sobriety journey, this year he began training for events like the Sydney Marathon and fell in love with running all over again
