There are many reasons for a man to take a stand in this life. A man can take a stand for truth. A man can take a stand for justice. A man can take a stand for the American Way.
But one cause a man probably shouldn’t take a stand for? Refusing to give his wife head.
DJ Khaled learned this the hard way on Twitter today, after a resurfaced quote from a 2015 Breakfast Club interview went viral. In the interview, DJ Khalid proudly declared
that while he is cool with — nay, expects! — his wife to give him oral sex, he has no desire to reciprocate.
“A woman should praise the man — the king,” Khaled, now 42, said in the interview. “If you holding it down for your woman I feel like the woman should praise. And a man should praise the queen. But you know, my way of praising is called, ha-ha, ‘How was dinner?’, ‘You like the house you living in? You like all them clothes you getting? I’m taking care of your family, I’m taking care of my family…’ You know, I’m putting in the work.”
He then added that while he “never” goes down on his wife, he expects her to fellate him on the reg nonetheless: “It’s different rules for men,” he said. “You gotta understand, we the king. There’s some things that y’all might not wanna do, but it got to get done. I just can’t do what you want me to do. I just can’t.”
It’s unclear how Nicole Tuck, DJ Khaled’s wife and the mother of his son Asahd, feels about this stance (nor is it clear how she feels about Khaled referring to himself as the sole breadwinner, considering she helps manage his business endeavours and operated a fashion line before giving birth to their son in 2016.) What is clear, however, is that Twitter actually exploded:
When the social media manager of the band that proudly declared it was possible for one’s “brain to get smart while [their] head gets dumb” takes issue with your stance on cunnilingus, then you might want to rethink your life choices, DJ Khaled.
As a possible form of damage control, DJ Khaled shared a photo on Friday of him and Tuck — his “queen” and “best friend” — clinking glasses:
To be fair, the interview took place more than three years ago, so it’s certainly possible the man has reversed his views. That said, considering that nearly 75 percent of women cannot reach orgasm through penetration alone, the very least DJ Khaled could do is go whistling in the canyon every once in a while.
Say it with me now 10 times: Real. Men. Go Down. On Their Partners. A Lot. And Like It. Put more in terms that DJ Khaled can understand, it’s major key.
Of course who else but The Rock would weigh in with this. Responding on Twitter, Johnson suggests he’s a master of cunnilingus. The former wrestler wrote, “Ahem.. *clears throat* as a man, I take great pride in mastering ALL performances. This is probably a little TMI.. I will now quietly excuse myself from this fun thread.”
