Josh Brolin Tried The ‘Butt Sunning’ Wellness Trend

If Josh Brolin is anything like the characters he’s played – think Thanos and Cable – then you wouldn’t expect him to easily be defeated. But trying his hand at the latest wellness trend, “perineum sunning” ( exposing your rear end to the sun), the actor was quick to regret attempting the controversial healing method.

And taking to Instagram, the 51-year-old had a burning warning for his followers.

“Tried this perineum sunning that I’ve been hearing about and my suggestion is DO NOT do it as long as I did,” he wrote. “My pucker hole is crazy burned and I was going to spend the day shopping with my family and instead I’m icing and using aloe and burn creams because of the severity of the pain. I don’t know who the fuck thought of this stupid shit but fuck you nonetheless. Seriously.”

“Perineum sunning” is a recent trend – Instagram “healer” Metaphysical Meagan brought the practice to prominence in a recent post, suggesting there are countless benefits to exposing your rear end to the sun. With just 30 seconds, Meagan claimed you could help regulate your sleep, boost your libido, improve focus and increase creativity.

However, medical professionals suggest that you’re more likely to get serious skin damage.

“Practicing mindfulness comes in many different and safer forms, and there are no extra benefits of doing this naked in the sun,” said Dr Diana Gall told Insider.
