How Kayla Itsines Became the Hottest Face of Fitness

Kayla Itsines – if you haven’t heard that name before, what rock have you been hiding under for the last few years?

Only days after Women’s Health Magazine announced Kayla Itsines as the cover girl for their May Fitfluential issue, Forbes released their Top Influencers of 2017 which saw Itsines take out the #1 spot.

But with the sort of following she boasts on social media (6.7m followers on Facebook, 11.9m followers on Instagram), is it really that surprising? I mean, this is the girl who single handedly sold out an entire stadium workout in under an hour.

As well as being the number one influencer for women all over the globe, Itsines, 25, also recently placed 51st on the 2016 BRW Rich List with an estimated net worth of $46m. Her “Sweat with Kayla” app – which provides fitness, nutrition and health advice – brought in $17m in 2016 alone.

After graduating as a Master Trainer from the Australian Institute of Fitness at the age of 18, Kayla began training clients professionally which was when she saw a gap in the fitness market.

Training mostly female clientele, many of Kayla’s clients would come to her complaining about the lack of results they were achieving in the areas they want it most: abs, arms, bum and thighs. Enter ‘Sweat with Kayla.’

Targeting the body parts women drastically want to change, Itsines has made an absolute killing. But this is no dodgy money-making scheme: this program works wonders. Itsines says a major goal of hers was to instil “bikini body confidence” back into everyday women.
