Put down the dumbbells and book an appointment at the dentist: nearly three quarters of women (71 per cent) judge you by your teeth, found a survey on match.com.
This comfortably outweighed more conventional status-signifiers like clothing (58 per cent), hair (53 per cent), shoes (29 per cent) and your car (24 per cent).
And after your dentist has given your chompers a high-gloss finish, you might want to go home and read one of the classics: after teeth, good grammar was the next most common marker of judgment, with a full 69 per cent of women impressed by a well-spoken gent.
