The world’s highest paid television actress has a body that single-handedly turned Modern Family into a ratings bonanza – but Sofia Vergara has a surprising little secret: she hates working out. That’s what the four-time Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominee told Women’s Health in an exclusive interview after Vergara’s first naked cover shoot.
“I’m a morning person, so if I don’t do it in the morning, then working out for me becomes…I find any excuse not to do it,” Vergara told WH. And the actress, who had never posed naked until age 44, was hardly hitting the gym or starving herself before the international exhibition: While filming for her upcoming movie Bent in Rome, Vergara was gleefully indulging in the capital city’s cuisine.
“How can you not eat in Rome?” Vergara says. “I ate like an animal!”
Vergara works out, to be sure, but her key is finding something she likes. A personal trainer puts her through three or four sessions each week on a Megaformer total body fitness machine, which is one of her least favourite activities. “It’s like torture to me,” Vergara says. “I’m in a bad mood two hours before, I’m in a bad mood while I’m doing it, I’m in a bad mood at the end because I have to schedule the next class.” She says she doesn’t have a six pack because she doesn’t “need to be like a fit model with a perfect body. That would take too much effort!”
