“People are not particularly willing, or able, to accurately report their feelings of lust vs. love, especially when in the presence of a partner,” says study author Dr Stephanie Cacioppo. “Our results show that a person’s gaze shifts as a function of his or her goal – love vs. lust – when looking at a visual stimulus.”
Here’s how to use the trick to your advantage: If you notice a woman look at you quickly and then shift her gaze away, no big deal – you may have just caught her eye. But if her stare is intent, and focused on parts of your body, she might have lust on her mind.
