The Top 6 Men’s Hair Trends for 2021

New year, new look! If you’ve been living for years with the same style of hair, there’s never been a better time to give yourself a boost. A new hairstyle is a great way to celebrate the new chapter of life and the following are our top men’s hair trends for 2021 – and how you can achieve the look.

The Medium Side Swipe

If you don’t like your hair to be too short, but you also don’t want it too long, the medium side swept look is ideal. It’s a beachy, social kind of cut that allows you to style your medium length hair in a messy, yet sophisticated look. Think Chris Hemsworth. If you want to get the look, forming cream is a great way to get a thicker and softer look.

Textured Side Fringe

Another cut for medium length hair, this look isn’t anything new, but it’s still popular, particularly for younger gens – teens, 20s and 30s. It looks great on guys that have an angular face as it highlights their chiselled features. You can choose short, so it sits above the eyebrow line, or go a bit longer. Style the side fringe with a quality pomade and it’ll hold without stiffness.

The Sliced-Back Undercut

This look is a little bit edgy, but at the same time it can easily be manipulated to be professional. The sliced-back undercut has been popular for a number of years now, but this year, we’re set to see more of this style than ever. The biggest benefits of this look is that its easy to maintain – though you’ll need to get cropped regularly to keep the shape. Add a little gel or surf wax to the top and you’re set for a look that lasts all day.

Textured Short Cut

If you like the good old short back and sides, but don’t want to completely shave your head, the textured short cut is an ideal look. You keep a little bit of length on the top of your head, while the sides and back are clipped close – all blended together. The length starts close at the nape of the neck, then increases as it gets to the top of your head. This texturing is what differentiates this look from the classic buzz cut. You don’t need a lot of products in this style, but if you do want to prevent fly-aways or fix your bed hair, try some easy hold cream.

The Buzz Cut

Traditionally, this look was for rebels and army dudes. Today though, it’s all about ease! The buzz cut, or shaving your hair to number 1 or 2, is an easy way to maintain your look – and there’s no time wasted styling. Simply get out of bed, get dressed and off you go. The biggest thing with the buzz cut is taking care of your scalp – as this is what everyone will see. A quality shampoo will keep it moisturised.

Long Waves

If you prefer to keep your hair long, simple waves are the best look for 2021. It’s low maintenance and relaxed and looks great for all occasions. You can bulk up the waves by scrunching them with a bit of wax, hide the fly away hair with some quality cream, and it is an easy look to quickly tie up in a man bun, if you need to. If your hair is naturally straight, don’t be afraid to invest in a curling iron to get the look!

Whatever look you’re after, don’t be afraid to try something new. Hairhouse has all the tools and products you need to get the look.
