Australia is in the grip of a horror early flu season and now authorities authorities are warning of another deadly condition.
Pneumonia is one of the top 10killers in Australia, with 10 per cent of the 77,000 people hospitalised with the killer lung infection each year dying.
Professor Robert Booy from the Immunisation Coalition appeared on Sunriseto raise awareness of pneumonia.
He says that less than half of those able to be immunised are protecting themselves from the disease.
People over the age of 65 and at high risk of infection can get free pneumococcal vaccines from their GPs.
