The popping Redditors are at it again, this time going crazy over an eye cyst removal video video.
The nearly five-minute long video shows a large cyst being removed from a patient’s eye. The cyst comes out in large, yellow pieces and at the end, the doctor shows the camera exactly how much came out and how it compares to the size of the eye (spoiler alert: it’s big).
“Two things: 1. The eye is so much squishier than I want it to be,” the top comment on the popping subreddit, from holtzmanned, reads. “2. I kept wondering how this person was being so still during the procedure because my brain associated the open eye with consciousness even after I reminded myself that the eye has to be visible during eye surgery. Edit: knowledge. He was awake.”
It seemed to be less enjoyable to watch than the pimple popping videos that these Redditors usually love, with many sharing their disgust. “You know, I can handle blood rushing from a neck. I can handle rivers of chunky puss running down a neck. I’m fine with watching open brain surgery to remove blood clots, and I’ll play videos showing lipoma extractions twice,” user Tar_alcaran wrote. “But I. can. not. handle eyes. This looks like pure torture to me.”
Other users seemed to have found their new fascination. “This video just leaves me wanting more…” neonlexicon commented. “I’ve never really been curious about other cyst videos posted, but I would love to see some form of x-ray or scan showing the shape of this person’s eye before the removal! Could you imagine??!”
