CrossFit Legend Khan Porter Shares His Day On A Plate

Want to know what fuels CrossFit legend and strength coach Khan Porter? We chatted to the seriously jacked fitness star to find out his day on a plate (and our next grocery list).

“For me the biggest issue is how busy I get during the day and so typically my biggest meals are breakfast and then dinner and often I’ll just snack during the day,” Khan told Men’s Health.

The 29-year-old is a big fan of intuitive eating and doesn’t restrict himself when it comes to the content on his plate.

“I eat pretty much whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like it,” he explains. “No restrictions, no portion control or calorie counting. I listen to my body, if I’m lacking energy I eat more, if I feel heavy and slow I clean up the quality of my food.”

Breakfast

A typical day of eating for Khan starts with a hearty and wholesome breakfast.

“A big breakfast, cafe style, eggs, bacon, toast, mushrooms, spinach a cheeky hash brown or a sausage if I’m feeling hungry.”

Lunch

When he can squeeze in lunch, carbs are an essential.

“Sandwich or wrap and maybe a salad with some sort of carb in it.”

Dinner

Khan says that dinner is usually his biggest meal of the day.

“I vary it up depending on how big my training day has been and what I feel like.”

He’s also not against a cheeky bev every now and then, washing down dinner with a craft beer.

Snacks

“Snacks can be anything from a sandwich, muffin, protein bar, bag of chips, to a smoothie. Whatever is convenient.”
