We know, we know: it can be hard to keep things smokin’ when you’re in a long-term monogamous relationship. But a study by California’s Chapman University of almost 39,000 married or cohabiting couples who’d been together for at least three years has revealed the secret to keeping the fire burning: variety.

 

Couples in the study were encouraged to spice things up by trying a new position, acting out a sexual fantasy or using sex toys. “What set sexually satisfied couples apart was that they actually tried some of the ideas,” says study author David Frederick. “If properly nurtured, passion can last for decades.”
