Mike Tyson Predicts Floyd Mayweather Will Destroy Conor McGregor

Seemingly every person who’s ever been a part of a professional fight, either by promoting it or participating in it, has been asked to give their two cents on who will win next month’s mega-bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. And the near-consensus seems to be that Mayweather will school the Irishman. It’s Mayweather’s sport, after all.

Mike Tyson was the most recent fighter to be asked who he thinks will win when the two loudmouths face off on August 26, as the question was posed to him on Barstool Sports’ most recent “Pardon My Take” podcast.

“McGregor is going to get killed boxing,” Tyson said, apparently unconvinced by Conor’s press tour cockiness. “Boxing? I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: can the boxer beat the MMA guy?

“[McGregor] put his dumb ass in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. [McGregor] can’t kick and grab and stuff. … He’s not going to stand much of a chance.”

Iron Mike also said that Conor accepted the “biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing,” but did add that he thought the actual fight would be exciting.

With respect to the Conor’s flamboyant antics, Tyson said, “Conor is a character. Floyd has never met a character like this…I want to say hey, [Conor calling Floyd a “boy” is] disrespectful, but it’s so funny, I can’t.”

In a bonus update to the fight that further stresses what a carnival it has become, crazy fans of McGregor’s reportedly hurled a brick through the window of the Essex, England, home of Mayweather’s girlfriend, Abi Clarke. That brick had a note attached to it that said “F*ck the Mayweathers.”
