Need another reason to get down and dirty with your partner?

According to recent research from the National Defence Medical Centre in Taiwan, sex reduces levels of harmful chemicals in the blood, thus reducing your risk of heart disease.

Published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the study suggests having sex several times a week can improve circulation in men. Blood flow is crucial to preventing a build-up homocysteine – a naturally occurring amino acid in the body that is a possible risk factor for heart disease.

The bad news? Unfortunately sex won’t have the same effects on women because their arousal isn’t dependent on a rush of blood.

If you’re struggling to get in the mood, try the new cure for a low libido
