You’ll Never Believe What ‘The Mountain’ Drinks to Get This Huge

To Game of Thrones fans, he’s known as “The Mountain” – but his name is actually Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, and he goes by Thor for short.

When he’s not decapitating horses with a sword on the show, the 180-kilogram Icelandic strongman is lifting 680-kilo logs, carrying a couple of fridges, training to become the World’s Strongest Man of 2016, and documenting it all on Instagram.

A recent post revealed how he fuels his boulder of a body – and it’s just as revolting as some of the more graphic duel scenes on GOT.

Yep, that’s a plate of rice, greens, and chicken going into a blender and down his throat. (Or is it fish? Do we even want to know?)

Why? Björnsson needs an absurd amount of calories and protein to keep up his size, strength, and activity level.

He eats more by 9:30 a.m. than most guys do all day. His three morning feedings include 8 eggs, a steak, oats, sweet potatoes, avocado, fruit, nuts, greens, and supplements.

Apparently he gets so tired of eating that he sometimes dumps his meals into a blender to get it all down.

Why I Run: Trent Knox

In 2016, Trent Knox founded the 440 Run Club, a group who meet each Saturday morning at 5am at Sydney’s Bronte beach. While the club has been pivotal in Knox’s sobriety journey, this year he began training for events like the Sydney Marathon and fell in love with running all over again
