Is there anything Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can’t do?
Look at some of the hats he wears: actor, bodybuilder, former pro-wrestler, loving father – but President of the United States?
Word is: he’s keen.
“I think it’s a real possibility,” he recently told GQ Magazine when asked about his political ambitions.
Hell, he wouldn’t be the first entertainer to assume a seat of power. Ronald Reagan was a former Hollywood actor before becoming president. Then there’s Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator-turned-governator of California. And who could forget the current leader of the free world…
So, which side of politics is he on? Who knows. Johnson has done his best to steer clear of political discussions in recent times, revealing that both Hilary Clinton and Trump asked him to back them in the 2016 presidential election.
“I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement,” he said. “But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen.”
Sure, Johnson might have zero experience and no apparent political nous but, hey, you can’t knock his patriotism. “I love my country, I’m extremely patriotic and I also feel, especially now, leadership is so important, great leadership is so important, respected leadership is so important,” he said in an interview with Reuters last year.
