Adidas Plans To Only Use Recycled Plastics By 2024

German company Adidas has today announced it plans to only use recycled plastics by 2024.

According to CNN Money, the the sportswear giant has pledged to stop using “virgin” plastic in it’s products.

Further, the popular activewear brand said it will stop using virgin plastics in its offices, retail outlets, warehouses and distribution centres. They estimate they will save the planet of 40 tons of plastic per year.

This isn’t the first time Adidas has made waves in the environmentally sustainable space. Earlier this year, they released a shoe in collaboration with the platform Parley to help reduce plastic in the ocean.

The new UltraBOOST X is a high performance shoe, manufactured using the reclaimed plastic of 11 plastic bottles.

Well done Adidas.
