This Is The Best Time Of The Day To Exercise If You Want To Lose Weight

We’re always on the look out for new hacks to drop a couple kilos. Now, a new bit of research has revealed the best time of the day if you’re looking to shed weight quicker.

Findings published in the Obesity journal suggests that working out first thing in the morning could lead to sustained weight loss.

After recruiting 375 adults who maintained weight loss and exercised with moderate-to-vigorous intensity, scientists had them record the time of day they worked out as well as the frequency.

Results found that in participants who maintained 15kg of weight loss a year, 68 per cent worked out at the same time each day while 47.8 per cent worked out in the early morning.

The study suggests that timing was key to forming discipline and that could translate to other parts of their lifestyle such as diet.

“Our findings warrant future experimental research to determine whether promoting consistency in the time of day that planned and structured physical activity is performed can help individuals achieve and sustain higher levels of physical activity,” said senior author Dale Bond in a statement

“It will also be important to determine whether there is a specific time of day that is more advantageous for individuals who have initial low physical activity levels to develop a physical activity habit,” added author Leah Schumacher.
