Former AFL star and The Block winner Darren Jolly has shared details about his impressive body transformation in a candid Instagram post.
The 37-year-old said he was in a ‘dark place’ before embarking on F45’s famous 8 Week Challenge, which has helped him lose 16.1 kilograms and given him back “the direction I was desperately searching for.”
“Ten weeks ago my life was f~^cked,” he wrote in the caption. “A long slow buildup of too many stressful things, finally broke me and pushed me into a very dark place. I wasn’t coping with everyday things and abusing my body with eating crap, drinking a lot and not excising. My stresses and thoughts controlled me and my life.”
Jolly – who recently split from his wife of 13 years, Deanne – says that when the scales tipped 122.9 kilograms he realised he needed to get his life back on track.
“I sort [sic] help for my mental health issues, I gave up chocolate (extremely hard for me to do that!!!) I gave up drinking for a while and I signed up to F45 Camberwell Junction to get some fitness back. Fast forward to now, I’ve completed an F45 eight week challenge and lost 16.1kg, I completely overhauled my eating by signing up to ChefGood meals for the challenge, I haven’t touched a beer and I feel I’ve taken back control and direction of my life.”
Jolly certainly isn’t the first person to see some impressive results from the 8 Week Challenge, which incorporates the F45’s functional training with nutritionally designed, daily meal plans and consistent tracking. Even Mark Wahlberg has bought into the fitness juggernaut, recently showing off his own results after taking on the 8 Week Challenge.
