John Cena’s WWE Pre-Show Ritual Includes 10,000 Calories In Tic Tacs

We’re conflicted here at MH HQ. Usually, we’re inclined to listen to those who have envious bodies. But we’re not sure if we condone this kind of advice.

John Cena has 16 WWE championships to his name. His secret to success? Tic Tacs, apparently.

Yup, appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the actor opened up about his days as a pro wrestler. Cena admits he had one strange pre-fight ritual: “My thing was always Tic Tacs. It’s a nervous superstition that I always have before we go on a broadcast.”

But it certainly wasn’t to keep his breath fresh in case he had to do some up-close-and-personal trash talk. Nope, Cena was guzzling them down like his favourite soft drink.

“I’ve had to wean myself off of them,” he told host Kelly Clarkson.

“I would up to like three boxes a day and it’s right in the 20 minutes before broadcast.”

The nutritional value? “It’s pretty much 10,000 calories and straight sugar.”

If you’re after the right way to fuel up before physical activity, we suggest heading here instead (it doesn’t involve 10,000 calories worth of sugar).
