2017 has been a huge year for Fed. Not only has he rediscovered his spark and technical brilliance on the court, but he’s also been proving what an amazing human being he is off it.
A few months ago after Federer claimed his fifth Australian Open singles title, we published the heartwarming story of his relationship with the parents of his first international tennis coach Peter Carter, who tragically passed away in a motor accident.
But it seems the Fed Express is the gift that just keeps on giving. Federer took a trip to the children’s hospital in his hometown of Basel to surprise the sick kids with chocolate with help from Lindt.
In what must be excruciating times for some of those children, the looks on their faces are those of absolute joy and admiration for the tennis superstar. When you watch the video below, you’ll see why:
