Yup, with every thrust is another calorie burnt and that means bedroom rodeo can definitely count as your 20 minutes a day. But how do you get the most out of every sweat session under the sheets? Turns out some positions use up more energy than others.
According to new research conducted by GolfSupport, the ‘Butter Churner’ (you can see a proper demonstration in the graph below) is the highest intensity sex position for a man, burning 211 calories in just 30 minutes. That’s roughly the same as going for a half an hour swim.
Standing Sex, Doggy Style and The Kneeling Wheelbarrow also provided similar calorie-burning efforts.
For women, squatting proved to be the most efficient move, burning 188 calories in a 30-minute get-together.
But It’s not just about the positions that make you lose weight – you need to ensure she’s getting off as well.
When it came to percentage of women who reached the big O in certain positions, Doggy Style came on top with 79 per cent saying they orgasmed in that position while 72 per cent were able to while squatting. Reverse Cowgirl rounded out the top three with 71 per cent climaxing during the move.
