Snoop Dogg is transforming into a domestic God. Fresh off the release of his 32 track gospel album, Bible Of Love, earlier this year, the rapper has announced he is entering the world of print with the launch of his first cookbook; From Crook To Cook.
While the book has promised “snacks to satisfy those munchies”, don’t expect any cannabis-based recipes, despite the weed advocate’s reputation. Although the health of the recipes is yet to be determined, Mr Dogg is staying true to his musical roots, promising 50 recipes ranging from his trademark ‘gin and juice’ (millennials… Google that song), snacks, and high-end dining ideas, all curated by Snoop himself.
“You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen. I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped and whipped collection of my favorite recipes, ya dig?” Snoop said in a statement upon the books announcement.
Snoop’s love for food and cooking is no secret. Back in 2016, around the time he was known as Snoop Lion (that was a crazy time), he started the Emmy-nominated show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party with fellow ex-con and foodie, Martha Stewart. The show centres around the pair co-hosting famous guests over “cocktails, cooking, conversation, and fun”, with invitees including Seth Rogen, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Naya Rivera, Ashley Graham, Jason Derulo, 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Kathy Griffin and Robin Thicke.
Mr Dogg is really diversifying at this stage in his career. The next few months will not only see the release of the cookbook, but the launch of a play, Redemption of a Dogg, that will tour the USA in October and November.
From Crook To Cook, is expected to drop (it like it’s hot) in Australia on October 23rd.
