The Top Men’s Hairstyles For 2018

In years past, we’ve seen hair trends that we couldn’t predict. Whether it was the mullet or the man-bun, there’s no doubt each year comes with a different style. Luckily, International hair stylist, Kevin Murphy and the co-founder of ELEVEN Australia, Joey Scandizzo, know exactly what you should be asking your barber during your next visit.

“Right now cuts are all about celebrating the individual. The best cuts will highlight features like the jawline, cheekbones and eyes. Cuts are fresh, but they never look like you’ve just had it done,” says Scandizzo

“They’re structured but grow out well, so you look good in between appointments. Products are going down the same route too, now it’s all about going for products that work with your natural texture as opposed to fighting it.”

“Today’s cuts are working a 90’s vibe with a bit of 70’s influence thrown in. Kind of like you look like you would know how to play in an instrument or are in band,” says Murphy.

“Shapes are still square to keep them masculine and while guys are wearing their hair longer, they’re still well groomed. The focus is on having hair that is in good condition and wearing it slightly heavier at the front, giving you more freedom.”

Scandizzo and Murphy recommend styles that include a loose combover, drawing inspiration from celebrities such as Jamie Dornan and KJ Apa.
