George Russell on finding peace amid the pressure
The British F1 ace sat down with Men’s Health to chat about his love of Aussie crowds and why his vision for success is as clear as ever.
Have you ever wanted to visit the Bradman Museum to look at some of the most famous memorabilia in the history of cricket, such as Don Bradman’s first bat? Or look at the surfboards that hang on the wall of the Australian National Surfing Museum? Well, now you can, and you won’t even need to take the trip to Bowral, New South Wales or Torquay, Victoria.
For this, you can be thankful of the efforts made by Google’s Arts and Culture team, who have partnered with Australia’s leading sporting organisations and institutions to provide a fully interactive experience with access to over 11,000 never-before-seen images and videos, which include hundreds of original stories and interviews.
Google have also used their state of the art gigapixel art camera to photograph some of Australia’s most famous sporting artefacts in amazing detail to give you a better view than with the naked eye. You can read the names and scores of the world’s most heralded cricketers on the Sydney Cricket Ground’s away changing room door or zoom in, view every fibre of a Surf Lifesaving costume from the 1930’s or study 1 of 3 remaining handkerchiefs featuring 1744 laws of the Game of Cricket – it’s pretty amazing and you can easily find yourself getting a bit lost in the detail.
Because if you are mad about sport like most Australians and would love to hear some amazing yarns, take a trip back in time or just delve deeper into the untold stories of your favourite codes then I would suggest heading over Australia: Great Sporting Land – or check it out on the Google Arts & Culture app.
