Chatting candidly to his reality TV love interest, Charlotte Crosby, the tradesman said he once had a perpetual “fear of vomiting”, which later developed into anorexia. While he shied away from discussing how he coped during that difficult period and eventually overcame the sickness, he said he’s still shocked when he looks back at old photos of his slim body.

“I used to have a fear of vomiting when I was young. And then I remember feeling sick once and I had a full-blown panic attack. For two years, because I had a fear of vomiting, I wouldn’t eat.

“And then because I wouldn’t eat, I’d feel sick. So I was anorexic for two years,” the 31-year-old told the former Geordie Shore star. “I used to wear two shirts. I have photos. I looked like a surfboard.”

His heartfelt admission comes after Aussie fans went into meltdown when Ryan debuted his insane weight loss during the show’s premiere. While the hunky star’s bulging biceps and chiselled abs were still on display, it was clear he’d undergone a complete transformation before braving the jungle. According to Ryan’s pal, he recently lost a whopping 14 kilograms after landing an endorsement deal with underwear brand Bonds.

“As soon as he was approached by the company he wanted to get into the best shape of his life,” the insider told the Daily Mail, adding he trimmed down after focusing on his diet and intermittent fasting.

As expected, Ryan returned to our screens in full force, instantly hitting it off with his British co-star, Charlotte. Moments after he made his way down the red carpet, Charlotte was over the moon he’d agree to star on the show, admitting they’ve been flirting on Instagram for over a year.

I can’t believe that Ryan is here!” Charlotte gushed in a piece to camera. “So, the thing about me and Ryan is, we had never met but we have spoken on social media. I feel like we’ve had a little bit of a flirt as so it’s a little bit awkward,” she admitted. But the pair didn’t look too awkward. In fact, they seemed to hit it off right away!”

The romance continued after Charlotte failed to complete the first task (bungee jumping out of a helicopter for a star) and returned to where Ryan– the last to attempt the jump – was waiting. The MAFS star wrapped the bubbly Brit in a warm embrace as she walked back into the forest, sharing a passionate kiss!
