Just when we thought 2020 couldn’t get weirder, Kanye West has announced he’ll be going up against Donald Trump and Joe Biden as a 2020 Presidential Candidate.
The 43-year-old rapper made the announcement in a tweet on July 4, writing: “We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

Understandably, Kanye’s tweet has received loads of attention – even Tesla-founder Elon Musk is rallying behind him. (The US billionaire replied: “You have my full support!”)
We do, however, have a few questions before jumping on board team Ye.
A.) Is this legit?
B.) Could he actually win the race?
And C.) Will Kim Kardashian be the next First Lady?
Worth noting: Some people are speculating this is simply a strategy to get votes away from Biden and more towards Trump. Remember that time he visited ‘ol mate at the White House wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat?
“They tried to scare me to not wear this hat, my own friends, but this hat it gives me, it gives me power,” he said at the time. “You know, my dad and my mum separated, so I didn’t have a lot of male energy in my home. Also, I’m married to a family that, you know – not a lot of male energy going on. It’s beautiful though.” Right. We’ll take your word on that Kanye.
Updates as we have them.
