Pitch Invader Storms Field and Scores Winning Goal, Ref Lets It Stand

The beautiful game is well known for its beautifully controversial moments, and a match on Sunday night between Honduran sides Olimpia and Motagua was no exception.

Down a goal in the dying embers of the game, Olimpia were pressing for a last-ditch goal to drawl level – when a pitch invader decided to take matters into his own hands.

Clearly not impressed with what he’d seen, the (seemingly) drunk, shirtless fan dribbled through the box and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the net.

However, almost completely in sync with the pitch invader was a real player, Olimpia’s Roger Rojas, who weaved his way through the penalty box and fired a bullet into the top of the net past the diving keeper.

Although proving a distraction to both defenders and goalkeeper, the referee sensationally let the goal stand, gifting the away team an unlikely draw.
