This Is The Absolute Worst Thing Guys Do During Sex

What you’re like as a person will probably be pretty similar to how you behave in bed. If you’re a self-absorbed person on the streets, you’re probably a selfish lover between the sheets.

But just how self-absorbed can guys be? Pretty bad it seems, according to the U.S. research paper titled ‘Do Women’s Orgasms Function as a Masculinity Achievement for Men?‘ which looked to how men see themselves in terms of helping a woman orgasm.

The study, consisting of 810 men, asked participants to imagine a scenario “where an attractive woman either did or did not orgasm during a sexual encounter with them”.

The findings were pretty damning, but some would say also unsurprising: men who did help their partner hit that sweet spot reported a sense of achievement, but not because they were happy their partner got to experience an amazing orgasm, but because they thought they were the man and found her orgasm as a reinforcement of their masculinity.

“Overall, it appears that men may be more concerned about their role in women’s pleasure than they are about women’s pleasure itself,” the study said.

They study found, however, guys who felt this way were more likely to be experiencing high levels of stress.

“For high-stress men, women’s orgasm presence or absence might be experienced as especially validating or distressing, intensifying feelings of masculinity achievement or failure.”

C’mon, guys: make her orgasm because she’s awesome and she deserves it, not so you can toot your own horn.
