How to build a chiselled chest
Your pecs are the key to a killer physique. Here, Men's Health fitness expert Khan Porter reveals his go-to moves to build a strong chest.
Kevin Smith is still shedding pounds four months after the massive heart attack that nearly killed him.
“Today, I am down a total of 43 pounds!” the Clerks director wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of himself looking like half a Silent Bob. “Only 7 more pounds until I’ve shed the 50 my Doctor told me to lose following the heart attack!”
Back in March, Smith revealed he’d lost 17 pounds in just nine days using the all-potato diet that magician Penn Jillette presented in his book, Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear — not something we’d recommend, exactly.
According to the director’s latest update, he has since phased over to Weight Watchers, the preferred diet of musician and noted non-cunnilingus practitioner DJ Khaled.
“This #wwambassador is now at the absolute adult thinnest I’ve been since I finished high school!” Smith wrote. “And while I may look a little better, I FEEL fucking fantastic! It’ll take a few weeks, but I’m ready to lose that final 7 pounds! And when I hit my goal, I’ll let you know where I started…”
We’re pumped Smith is feeling great, and especially psyched he’s feeling good enough to return to Degrassi High School.
The key to Weight Watchers, however, is not just losing the weight — but keeping the weight off. “The data are quite clear,” David Levitsky, Ph. D., a professor of nutrition at Cornell University, told Men’s Health in 2011. “When people complete their dietary treatment, they gain most of the weight back within one year.”
So basically, the man who made his career writing movies about lovable slackers needs to make sure he doesn’t slack off. We’re rooting for him.
